This morning involves getting my 3 teenagers out of the house on time and with the least amount of arguing. LOL. Then laundry, never-ending laundry, meeting my best friend for "lunch". She is going to eat while I enjoy another Optifast. We will probably wander the mall for awhile. Then tonight I am going to my first support meeting at the Civic Hospital (Ottawa). Today's talk is about how to manage and prevent weight regain. Really looking forward to that.
Optifast all day

Good Morning Everyone!
Today is a great day!
I am finished the 2 week Metabolic Reset Diet as outlined in Dr. Weiner's book, "A Pound of Cure". I feel great and I'm really glad I did it. It has given me (and my family) a whole new way of looking at what we have been putting in our mouths!. So, basically I have not had any dairy, grains, starchy vegetable, or anything processed in 2 weeks. What a difference it has made to the way I think and feel. I have lost 8 pounds, I feel like I have more energy, my skin feels smooth and my outlook on life is clear! So, to continue, I will eat basically the same adding one grain a day, if I feel like it (ie, so if I have brown rice with dinner I don't have toast in the morning). Also pasta and white rice - only twice a month. I am Italian and I LOVE pasta. I feel okay about this though. Don't really miss it at the moment and I know for sure that once I have my surgery, it will have to go. Even still as I have it now, I will measure (no more than 1/2 cup). So...things are good.
Here is what I am eating today - pre-op
Breakfast - yogurt, pecans, melon, smoothie (protein powder, strawberries, banana)
Snack - cherries, pistachios
Lunch - veggies and guacamole, cheese
Snack - banana, peanut butter
Dinner - sausage in tomato sauce, mushrooms, zucchini, greek salad
Good morning all,
I've been sick all weekend and now think it may be a kidney infection. Last night was the worse - uncontrollable shaking because I was so cold, lower right back pain and, when I took Tylenol, broke out into sweats.
I have my own business, so I had no choice but to come into work. My daughter is going to come in this morning and as I am unsure whether my doctor will have time to see me, I'm going to go in and provide them with a urine sample so they can dip and hopefully provide me with a prescription. I'm feeling nauseous and although I haven't thrown up, even water is difficult. I got my black decaf this morning and for the first time since surgery, a small blueberry pomegranate smoothie (I haven't had any sugar, nor have I drunk any calories - but I needed something freezing cold. Already I'm sweating.
Enough whining - I just don't feel well at all and am so close to tears.
B - protein shake, smoothie (140 cal.)
S, L, S - protein bar (if it will stay down)
D - unsure
I sure hope I get something. When I was 21 I was misdiagnosed and my right kidney actually shut down. I never want to go through something like that again.
Again, no more whining.
