One Year Surgiversary! Updates and outlooks at 1 year post op...
I seriously can't even describe how amazing "normal" feels. It happens so quick too. All those things that "normal sized" people don't think about will only be a distant memory for you. It's incredible. And your relationship with food will change but if your like me it will change for the better. I am still a "foodie" and love food! I still get excited to eat yummy stuff. I like high quality delicious food now - not just a huge quantity like before.
Buckle up and hold on tight - your in for an incredible ride!!

HAHA! So funny eh? I'm always showing my hubby too - like "feel this" and pointing out my latest discovery. Just yesterday I was scratching my back and the way I had my arm twisted behind my back caused my should blade (wing) to stick way out! So weird.
Good luck on your continued success :)

Good luck on your journey! It's seriously life changing in such an amazing way. I just stick to the plan and remember that what I've tried hasn't worked so I'm trusting others (mostly - I don't add bread despite the dietician encouraging me to) and staying focused. I've also asked my loved ones to keep me accountable. I work out informally (just on my own - I treated myself to a precor eliptical - LOVE IT!) 3 times a week and I jump on the trampoline (great work out and super fun) and now I also do yoga at home. Not every day but a few times a week. I always take the stairs now though. Good luck!

Hey Nikki,
Loved reading your post. You inform, encourage and inspire - just what I love about this site. You have done so well through hard work and commitment. It's not easy, but it is the best decision and I share your view that this is SO worth it.
Congratulations. I'm so happy for you.
Linda

Congratulations on one year!!! I love everything you have reflected on and I can't wait to be able to do the finer things in life (like reach my toes without losing my breath hha). I can't wait to read more about your journey. I'm 9 days away from surgery so I'm soaking in as much as possible :)
