My First Real NSV - And it feels great again
Howdy All,
Been a bit absent other than a few posts here and there. Down another two pounds and although my weight loss seems to be slowing now, I am still down another 6 lbs from last months totals. Slow but steady which suits me just fine. Overall Weight loss is now 97 lbs. So hard to get to the 100 lbs...but I'll get there.
So this post isn't about weight loss but rather to boast about an NSV I have desired for years.
Even though I was a big lad most of my Adult Life and late teens...I was always very Active. That goes for sports, hard work, whatever...I was never one to avoid hard physical work. That is up until about 4 years ago when my back, knees and overall Body stopped recovering and basically put me in "Too Sore to Move Mode" up until now. Seemed every time I would do physical work, my body would sieze up completely, My back deprived me of physical work and my knees just made every thing else worse. I would change my tires on the car and be done for the day. Not anymore
Not only can I move, get up and down, Work hard and recover much quicker again, I wanted to post some of the handy work I've done this past long weekend...mostly by myself, with nothing but my own strength and new stamina.
Work included:
Front and Back lawn Repair - Dig up, remove old soil, turn remaining Soil, Add new Soil and Seed/Water
Lower 40, Installed about 40Ft of Hedges. I had to dig the trench, get rid of the old Soil/Sod, mix in new Soil, Plant all the hedges ( Two rows along back, one row between ours and our Neighbors Trailers) and cover with Mulch.
It seems like a lot, but as mentioned I don't shy away from hard work and to be frank, I find outdoor work therapeutic to my mind. Friends always thought of me of being like a worker bee. Bzzz, Bzzz, Bzzz always on the go.
So nice to be back at this stage already and I'm not even 4 months post op yet.
As for today, My arms and back are tired and sore but had I done this last summer, I'd be on the ground dead from exhaustion and likely suffering excruciating back and knee pain.
That is an amazing NSV! Good for you. :)

As well, My wife is happy I can now get up the ladder to work on the roof of the RV myself again. She has been crawling up on the roof for the last 3 years because I couldn't. God love her.
