Nurse and Social Worker complete- TWH

Im so excited! I have completed my nurse practitioner and social worker appointments!! Both have said they will not need to see me again. Wooohooo!

My group dietitian appointment is on June 6.

What happens after that?

I don't get the sense I will need a sleep study or GI scope or anything like that... when do you find out you need those things if they ask you for them?

Awesome! Typically the nurse identifies what studies need to be ordered. If they didn't order any additional studies you should be good. Ones that they do regardless in Hamilton? is the ultrasound and blood work/EKG. I should add that this was the case for Hamilton so TWH may be different.

After the nutrition group class, at TWH you still have the Psychology appointment (this could be with either a psychometrist/psychologist or psychiatrist, as well as the one on one with the dietician.

After the 2 that Tanya mentioned above, if they are both happy with what they see/hear from you, your file will go for 'rounds'. This is where the entire team discusses your case and gives you the final approval. They usually have these meetings on Thursdays, so it would be the 1st or 2nd Thursday after your last appt (pysch or dietician).

Then you will get a call with a date for you to meet the Surgeon. At that appt you will be given both your pre-op date and your surgery date.

So what happens at the psych appointment? Just curious because yesterday at the social worker appointment, there were a lot of state of mind questions!!
