Challenge ideas
Hi everyone,
I'm putting together a count down calendar to my surgery date in October, and I'm looking for ideas of weekly challenges I could do to help pass the time.
So far I have things like chewing or drinking weeks, where I focus on practicing the right eating habits for after surgery, or recipe hunting weeks or recipe practice weeks, or a week where I do research on chewable vitamins and protein powders and stock up for the first little while, stuff like that.
All ideas welcome and appreciated!
I remember that someone on the board posted that they made a task jar. It had little slips of paper in it that had a different task on each one. The tasks were things like:
Talk to a friend for 20 minutes on the phone
Clean out my closet and organise clothes
Go for a 30 minute walk
This jar was to be used whenever temptation for food struck, or just plain old head hunger. She used it to distract her brain from wanting a food she was craving, by completing a task from the jar. I thought it was a brilliant idea. Most tasks could be completed in under an hour.

I love this idea. How about reading pertinent books such as The Emotional First Aid Kit - A Practical Guide to Life after Bariatric Surgery.
I am post-op and am still waiting for appointments I have no idea when my surgery will be. Would you like a challenge buddy?

That's a great idea!! And absolutely! I just made a separate post for the first week, so check that out if you'd still like to participate! I was thinking if make a new post every week for the outcome of the last week and the announcement of the next challenge, and then participants could talk about their progress or ideas, you know?
I am in!

Try starting to keep a log of your food. This is a great way to track after surgery.
