Day 1 post opt
Hello all,
I had my surgery yesterday all went well yay ended up with a rny. I'm in a little pain but overall I'm doing well I got d/c this afternoon. I'm home now so far since opti started on April 17th I am down 26 lbs. My goal was to be below 300 lbs for surgery. First goal met. Thank you all for all your previous comments and support it so very helpful.
Congratulations and welcome home. :)
Were you expecting to get RNY or VSG? Sounds like the RNY was a surprise. If so, may I ask what happened?
Thanks and wishing you a speedy recovery!
Hi there thank you for your wishes. The rNY is the standard procedure they don't really tell you until after the surgery what they decided that's why I mentioned that. Good luck to you
Get lots of sleep and keep drinking your fluids and move when you can. I'm glad everything went well. Your quite the achiever - "First goal met". Woohoo and congratulations. Keep us posted.

I feel like I'm sleeping all the time, I can't help it I'm exhausted I'm up for 2 and down for 4. Still no bowel movement drinking water to keep the hydration up a little sore today but better then yesterday. Thank for your well wishes and great advice.
I would get up to go to the washroom, walk downstairs to get some more water, then fall into bed exhausted. It's normal and I think being accepting of this and giving yourself a break is positive behaviour. When we expect more of ourselves - right away, we feel like we're failing (been there, done that). You will be healing for a long time and now 7 weeks out, I still find that I'm done at the end of the day.
Keep taking your stool softeners. I'm still abit constipated and only go about every two days. I keep forgetting to buy Restoralax until my body reminds me (lol).
Now go to sleep!

Glad everything went well. That's great weight loss. I couldn't get below 300 before surgery, but I am now, and its was a nice feeling to be in the 200s.
Take it easy and get some rest.
Speedy recovery!!
Take care.
