Got My Surgery Date!!!
Hooray!! It's a long way out still but at least I have the date! Surgery set for September 22nd at TWH. Very excited to finally know when it's happening and have a date to plan around. 3 weeks of Opti coming my way, and I start that on September 1st.
Sleeve Gastrectomy was what she recommended for me and I'm leaning in that direction but she said I could opt for the bypass day of surgery if I changed my mind.
The countdown is on!!!

Congrats getting your surgery date! I know that's what we all are impatiently waiting for.
I had a sleeve 7 plus weeks ago. It's nice your doctor is giving you a choice between the two surgies. Obviously you know why she is recommending the sleeve over the RNY so consider both carefully.
I had the VSG for medical reasons, and sure the first month is definitely the hardest after surgery, but no regrets.
If you have any questions regarding the sleeve feel free to ask. There doesn't seem to be a lot of us on the Ontario forum. And not sure about your site, but RNY is heavily pushed and not alot of information is given about the sleeve, unless you ask directly.

Orientation April 2016 - Final approvals December 2016. Surgical Class January 23, 2017. Met with Dr. Reed February 7, 2017. Opti start date March 1, 2017. Surgery March 15, 2017 (Dr. Foute-Nelong).
