Hi there! I was planning on going to the TWH support group tonight to ask but I have a horrible unrelenting cold and didn't want to be hacking through the meeting and sharing my germs with everyone. So to my online family I go...

Question - for those who've had their meet the surgeon appointment at TWH. What should I expect? My appointment is Friday morning. Whoooo hoo!! I'm excited to get my surgery date!!!! Finally! I know I need to bring a credit card for Opti, and that the surgeon may or may not be there. What else? Are their tests they give you in person? Or for you to take away with you (blood work etc?), do they tell you which surgery you'll get, give you pre-surgery lifestyle must dos and don'ts? Is it short? Long? Is it the last appointment pre-surgery or are there more?

Hey there, I have no clue about the surgeon - I am about to go to orientation! I just wanted to say: feel better quickly, and congratulations! So exciting that you're at this stage :)

Thanks! Hopefully this cold goes away. I've missed 2 support group meeting for it. Driving me nuts being so congested! Congrats on starting your journey as well! Well worth the wait so I'm told! :)

Mine took about an hour with the wait. Met with the nurse first who went over medical history and did blood pressure test. Then met with the surgeon who confirmed everything, gave a brief overview of the surgery and asked if I had any questions.

You will have one more appointment before surgery, the pre-admission appointment which you will get a date for as well, and that appointment could take several hours.

Good luck, you are well on your way now.

Thanks for the reply! That sounds fairly straight forward. I don't know why I stress so much. Every appointment I've had has gone so well. I just get anxious prior to and then after it seems so silly. Fear of the unknown I guess.
