First day of Opti
Wow. It's ONLY noon?!
Please tell me this gets better.
I had my first shake at 8:00am and I was starving by 11:00. I chugged my second shake around 11:30 and had broth.
I keep reminding myself that this is the sacrifice I have to make and there will be plenty more.
But the negative Nancy in my head just wants to eat all the food!!!

It DOES get better and today is the first day towards a healthier, slimmer (maybe grouchier - lol) you.
One of the members suggested 8, 12, 4 and 8. That worked really well for me. I used lots of ice and a personal blender that I bought from Walmart for less than $13. I wouldn't have done without it - at home and at work. Tried some of the flavourings, but the ice and the blender made everything much better.
I wish you luck.

Yikes. Good luck. I still haven't had my orientation. I read these posts and I think "I am not looking forward to that" but also, I can't wait, because that will mean I'm so close to surgery. It seems so far away right now.
Stay strong. You're almost there!!!
One day at a time. Most of us remember better times after the first 3/4 days. I didn't mind it, but i only had 1week.
You are right......it's the first of MANY unpleasant things you need to do in the WLS process, but i can tell you this.......by following the rules and kicking OPTI ASS you will give yourself such a sense of accomplishment and you will be ready for the next challenge. In my case it was clear fluids pre op.....I would have killed for that shake that day !!!lol
Each step along the way will build your confidence. You are capable of things beyond your imagination. You will amaze yourself and feel powerful....and that's a GREAT FEELING !!!
Being an overeater and obese makes you feel you've lost all control....being able to say no and be OK about it ROCKS!!!
