Anyone have some info on The Ottawa Hospital wait times? Anybody have a good or bad experience with them? Just curious, not sure what to expect or how the process works. Thank you and if anyone wants to get together for coffee or know of an Ottawa support group, let me know

I was referred in February and I have my first group information session on May 5th. That's all of the info I have so far. I hear it takes anywhere between 6-12 months to get surgery on the ottawa wait lists.

I was referred on Jan 30, and haven't heard from the hospital yet. Not sure how long it suppose to take.

I was referred in October 2016 and attending my orientation in the beginning of January. I met with the Nurse on April 4th and today I attended the first Pre-surgery Class. There was a problem with my blood work so my first appointment was delayed. Next will be appointments with the behaviorist and nutritionist which won't happen for a minimum of 6 weeks. They want to see that you are starting to implement some of the changes that are needed for the surgery to be successful ie. stop smoking, no alcohol, no caffeinated or carbonated beverages. Once you get their approval you move on to the second pre-surgery class, meet the surgeon then on to surgery.

Only good things for me to say about Ottawa. My timeline is in my signature. Enjoy the journey.
