HIT A WALL
During the month since surgery I have had absolutely no problems - other than getting used to Stage Three eating (pureed/soft foods). Although I was getting tired of liquids, they are much easier and you don't have to worry about timing your water for 30 minutes after eating. I have been at work for the past two weeks - also doing well.
On Saturday I cleaned my daughter's house and looked after my grandson while she was at work (she's 5 months pregnant) and did some yard work at home. Yesterday I woke up dead tired. We went to church and I couldn't keep my eyes open. I was sore all over. I came home and slept for three hours. Got up at 2 and made a roast dinner, then went back to lay down when it was done. I helped my husband with a report he was writing and went to sleep at 10. Today, I'm feeling MUCH better.
What I have learned is that a) I'm still healing and that takes both time and energy, b) I'm probably trying to do too much and need to take it easier, c) I have to recognize that I'm taking in very few calories and drinking lots of water, d) I need to be patient and give myself a break - as I keep recommending to members who also expect a lot from themselves.
I know that I am sticking to plan and doing really well. This was the right decision for me to make and my energy levels will come back up. My blood pressure is still a little low and my hemoglobin is still down - but moving in the right direction. I'm off all medication and all vitamins are going down without any difficulty. This journey does have ups and downs and lots of challenges and new learning opportunties, but the destination is still the same and very much worth the effort.

Thank you for this post.
I am bored (11 days post-op) and actually missing work, my surgeon has ordered minimum 6 weeks off due the demands of my job.
I needed to hear that it will be draining and that I need to get me next stages of eating figured out before going back to work. I normally work three 12 hour shifts in a row and then 2 off so I guess I should work on planning and endurance.

If you are bored, you can organize your closet by size. That way as you lose weight you can donate the larger sizes without having to sort them again.

Hi Linda,
Other than writing my post yesterday and having no time to look at posts haven't been on in awhile, but sounds like what you are going through is totally normal.
Its still major surgery were recovering from. My energy sucks, sounds like you were doing alot of work, no wonder your body caught up with you. I find if I have a really busy day walking lots, when I get home I just want to collapse on the couch or bed lol
Sounds like you continue to have a great attitude, and that's really one of the most important things. Your right this journey will have ups and downs, and will get there in our own time, but will get there.
Take care of yourself.
Amanda
