Butter or margarine

Happy long weekend everyone.

I think I know the answer to this already but I have been wrong many times when making an assumption so I thought I would ask.

When on the puree and regular food stages is butter or margarine acceptable on veggies?

Looking forward to your responses.

Thanks!

I never use margarine as butter has more flavour and they are all fat anyway. I just use small amounts of butter when I want it. It won't hurt you to have a bit of fat in your diet so use whichever you prefer.

Thank you. I prefer butter as it tastes better and is natural not chemical.

Hello,

it's a personal preference, so you like butter or margarine best.

I would always recommend butter however because I love the taste and it adds to the flavour of most foods. Margarine is synthetic butter is a "natural" food.

For the wee little bit of butter verses margarine..... calories are negligible (in my opinion)

In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.

I use butter. Here is what my sister-in-law who studied in nutrition explained to me. Butter is natural and your body "works" with it to use vitamins, minerals, etc. Margarine is oil boiled at such a high temperature that it's whole chemical makeup is changed to the point where your body doesn't recognise its elements and will store it as fat until it can figure what to do with it (i.e. never). I remember seeing a picture with butter and margarine left outside and where the bugs were all on the butter to eat of it and none on the margarine. Pic said it all!
