Canecllation List - How often do people actually get a new date?

I know this topic is beaten to death. But with a surgery date nearly 5 months in the future, I am sitting here pondering...How often do surgeries get changed? I have also heard little things here and there, and wondering if anyone is able to tell me what is myth and what is fact.

1: I understand that the hospital "year end" is March 31st, and after that date the # of surgeries they are allowed to do is "reset" - sorry I do not have technical terms, and this is something I have only heard. Is this true?

2: I have also heard that after March 31st they sometimes can add more surgery dates to the schedule.

Does anyone have any information to substantiate this information?

How many people ask to be on the Cancellation List - it sounds to me as though almost everyone does.

I know people were getting cancellations quite a bit in nov/dec... but haven't heard of anything since. I'm sure alot of us asked to be put on the cancellation list since TWH got behind in their surgeries... so I'm thinking that there won't be alot of cancellations this time of the year... (hopefully i'm wrong...) Maybe during the summer when people go on vacations...but not sure how many surgeries where actually scheduled during the summer months either. Doesn't sound like alot if they are already up to August dates.. :(

I believe I may have got a cancellation date, fingers crossed for you that you get one too!
