I am ESTASTIC to say that upon meeting the dietitian she gave me the stamp of approval!!

Tomorrow I follow up with the social worker via telephone (she's the last to approve) and then I'm moving onwards!! I was told I could be in the surgeical education class this month! Crossing my fingers!!

She looked at my initial paperwork. She asked me about my previous attempts at weight loss (I lost and kept off 80lbs before I got pregnant) and what contributed to my weight gain.

She asked me what changes I've made. My weight has stayed the same despite my changes but she was okay with that. She said weight maintenance is acceptable and weight loss is a bonus!

She then asked me about the different stages post-surgery, examples of foods you can eat, what is dumping syndrome, what my goal weight is, and what might be my biggest challenges after surgery. And she looked at my food journals.

To be honest, I was VERY prepared. I basically had memorized the nutrition workshop because I had been reviewing it for the last few weeks. I was nervous but it wasn't as scary as I anticipated.

Congratulations. I was patient until I was approved. Waiting can be a challenge but it is so worth it.

Sounds so exciting. I just met with the Nurse on March 6th, who knows we may have passed each other. It is nice to find someone who is ahead of me in this process.

Are you having the RNY or VSG? Which Dr. did you meet with? What was your first appointment like with the social worker?

Any wisdom your can share would be appreciated.
