Wait times

Hi, I am new here, just beginning my journey, trying to understand and read as much as I can.

It is very helpful to read all these posts and stories, thank you for your help.

Question: My family doctor referred me to OBN early Novemeber 2016, today March 2, 2017 and I am still to get a phone call for an orientation meeting. In January I asked if it's normal to wait that long and I got an answer that probably because of the holidays it takes longer.

Does it take 4 months?

If it matters I live Downtown Toronto and my family doctor is at St. Michael's clinic.

Yes it can take a while. I am in Ottawa so it is a different queue but I think it was around 5 or 6 months for me to get contacted and even then it was an info package I got in the mail with questionaire to have completed in time for the first orientation/info class.

I am from Toronto as well. I waited 5 months to get my orientation date. I am not sure if St. Mikes does surgery anymore, you may get referred to Toronto Western Hospital, which is amazing. Busy and it will take a year or so until surgery but you are definitely educated and ready for this life change when the time comes. Good luck on your journey and keep us posted.

You were right just looked at my mail box, got a package from TWH and orientation day in April :)
