Thank you so much for sharing! You are doing AMAZING!

I am still waiting...and lately I have definitely felt the wait.

I know this is weird, but how tall are you?

Not weird at all - the weird part is I actually gained an inch lol. I was 5'1" at my heaviest and I'm now 5'2" - I questioned this and was told that it's not uncommon. Apparently it happens because there isn't so much weight compressing all of your joints and cartilage (especially from the spine). So short answer - I'm now 5'2" :)

Hang in there and try to start making changes. Which centre are you going through and have you had many appointments yet? I found once I did the trio appointments it happened really fast.

Good luck!

I am barely 5'1...but I would LOVE to be 160...140 is my goal.

I have been approved by the doctor, I follow-up with the social worker on Monday (no concerns and do believe I will be approved on Monday), and I meet the Dietitian as well. I have heard that some people require follow-ups with the dietitian and I am hoping to avoid that. I have made a lot of changes and also been working out. I was hoping to have my surgery in the next couple months (April or May), is that wishful thinking?

Hi there - sounds like things are moving along and good for you for making positive changes and working out! I had a follow up appointment with the dietitian because I wasn't incorporating enough carbs into my diet and skipped a meal one day according to my log (I wasn't feeling well so didn't eat breakfast) but nonetheless I made the changes and was passed at my follow up.

You might not be wishful thinking for surgery dates - I met my surgeon in May and was hoping for surgery in September but found out at that appointment they had openings in 2 weeks! I took it and had surgery at the end of May (dates are in my timeline). I had one day before starting opti then did 2 weeks of opti.

Good luck and keep us posted!!

Oh that 1 inch is amazing! I lost an inch last year when I was at my heaviest and put it down to age - but maybe I will get it back! Congrats on your success and keep up the great work!

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

77 lbs lost and counting!

Losing the regain! I got this!

CONGRATULATIONS!  How incredibly exciting.  I think one of the hardest things to get in one's head is how we will look, act and feel once we have achieved such a dramatic weight loss.  I have seen, first hand, a friend's journey who had the surgery in September, has lost 126 pounds in less than 6 months and is only 13 pounds away from his goal.

Nikki, you have done so well and I appreciate the details of your weight loss.  I'm excited to soon be sitting next to you on the bench.

Linda

* I didn't know what Onederland was - too funny.  I'm now looking forward to flying somewhere warm with my hubby not requiring a seat belt extension.  When it happened (twice) I though something must be wrong with the plane.  "Onederland" will definitely get me there.

OMGo****otally agree with you about how hard it is to imagine how we will look/feel etc. I've had times where I don't recognize myself in the reflection of glass while shopping lol.

Also, I've had many people who I've known for years (usually at work) who I haven't seen in months who don't recognize me and I have to tell them who I am (awkward). It's weird, lol, because in my head I'm still that 280lb person who surveys the room to find the most "accessible" spot to sit so I don't get in people's way or survey a chair nonchalantly wondering if it will hold me, etc. I still get surprised when I sit in a chair and cross my legs without thinking and my thighs still don't touch the arms! Or when I try on a size 10 and it fits! Or when I see a picture of myself and don't cringe.

It's neat :)
