Hello everyone. I am able to go home later today. The gas pain is still here but I started tooting early this morning so it should go away. I feel pretty good but tired today. I walk about 3 rounds of the hall every hour. They just took my IV off so now my mind is worried about dehydration. Sip sip sip. The staff at Guelph are great.

Great job Leeann.  When you get home, set an eggtimer to remind you to get in an ounce every 15 minutes (sip it in little sips throughout the 15 minutes).  Keep fluid beside you when watching TV, by your bed.  All of those ounces add up and you will start to feel less tired.  Rest your body, don't do housework.  Your new job is fluids (any clear fluid counts), resting and healing, walking around the house, for the next week.

It is difficult to tell if I have pouch pain, gas pain or incision pain as it is all in the same place. I am tolerating the clear fluid and not nauseous so I think that is good. Takes me a very long time to finish thing. I am still on my chicken broth 45 mins later.

You're doing great with the walking!  Drinking gets easier with time; just keep fluids near you at all times so you can keep sipping.

Once the gas is out you should feel so much better.  So glad you get to go home (and are probably already there as I'm responding at 10:30 PM).
