Back on Full Fluids; going for Ultrasound and Xray Tomorrow
The pain was so bad last night that I kept waking up from it and finally gave up and went down to sit on the couch at 4:00 AM. I called my surgeon and was told to call my family doctor because it's too far to go back to Toronto (700 km). I also called my nurse in Sudbury and she told me to ask my doctor for an ultrasound and xrays, and to go back on full liquids to 3 days to see if that helps (since this problem only started since I began the puree stage, she said maybe my body just isn't ready for purees yet). I have no nausea or fever, just pain, so maybe that's the problem.
My family doctor set up an xray and ultrasound for tomorrow at 12:25. I have to fast for 8 hours beforehand which won't be a problem. I feel much better knowing I'm going to have these tests.
Hopefully it's just as simple as my not being ready for the pureed stage yet.

Let's hope the tests show what is going on. Are you having a barium swallow test as well?

Thank you. A barium swallow test wasn't mentioned, but they said i have to fast for 8 hours (no eating or drinking) before the ultrasound, so maybe they'll give me one? Not sure. What is it?
