Optifast Day #1!
So today things got THAT much more real for me! I've started my first day of Optifast!!! Surgery is exactly two weeks away today at Humber River Hospital. I can't believe the time is so close.
As for the Optifast: the taste isn't too horrible. I did order a bunch of Sugar Free syrups online (that arrived yesterday, just in time!) if I need them. The surgeon's office only had Chocolate so I'm not sure if anything added would make a difference? I had some leftover gingerbread coffee from Christmas that I froze in icecube trays in the freezer so I added that for my first shake. I did find blending with ice made the shake a lot thicker (almost like one from Wendy's).
Hope everyone has a great Long Weekend!

Good for you. I don't start Opti for another two weeks and will go to the Bulk Barn to get a couple of extracts. Are we supposed to use decaf. coffee? As I usually only drink high-test, I was thinking of getting a decaf. at Tim's and making a tray or two of ice cubes in advance.
The two weeks will go quickly.

Yaaah congratulations to you. I had my surgery there 4 months ago. My Dr. was Dr. Starr. The nurses were so friendly. My experience from the beginning of my surgery day until I was released was so amazing. Don't be surprised if you get tired of all the "sweet" tasting liquids. I couldn't stand/take anymore sugar free anything. I wanted savoury. I was so happy when I was able to start soups.
Let us know how you are doing. Good luck
