Do you go to the support groups at TWH? I wonder if they'll take patients who didn't have surgery there at those. I had my revision in Montreal

Hi There!
I think your weight loss is normal. 15 lbs in 3 weeks is excellent. Some people reported going through a stall at 3 weeks, I didn't have that problem for several months out. Do a search on 3 week stall, you'll see its very normal.
I believe they recommend that your meals span about a half hour if I remember correctly. However eating so little food I couldn't make my meal last that long.
Like you I had no problems, and haven't met a food I can't tolerate.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks for that - it makes me feel better - I am sure I am just over thinking things - I guess when you read about how every struggles with certain things - and then you don't - you kind of wonder why you are getting so lucky :)
not complaining at all - just making sure there isn't something I am missing - or doing wrong.
:)

TdotDana,
I am on Day 5 post op, Our plan here in Ottawa is different. For example our guide says once we can tolerate between 1000-2000ml fluids daily we can move into stage 3 which is puree. Stage 3 occurs as early as Days 3 - 7 after release from Hospital depending on the individuals and their tolerance of things.
I am like you, I can drink no problem and have not had any discomfort other than the normal gas pains at first. I still sip, but I can drink a Premier Protein in about 15 minutes just sipping it. I do try to slow it down.
Since Day 3 Post Op, I have had Humus (30ml), canned salmon mixed with low fat Miracle whip between 2 - 4 tsp, Pea Soup with Ham about 60ml and this morning I had a scrambled egg made with skim milk. I was only able to eat about 1/2 the egg, and the Pea Soup, and Salmon I can handle about 1/4 cup at a time before stopping and yet it's not because of discomfort or any type of pain. I also just finished two pieces of smoked salmon strips. OMG were they good. I chew everything well if not already pureed
I have no issues with Whey Protein, Premier Protein, Broths, Water, Skim Milk and downing crushed meds/prescriptions.
The closest I came to feeling full was perhaps this morning when eating the egg. I gave the other half to my wife to finish.
Otherwise, I was starting to think I was the freak, but as they always tell us , we all recover differently. That said I feel absolutely blessed to have this type of experience.

so strange that every centre has their own program - I can't believe you were eating all that 3 days post op - good for you ;)

I stalled at 3 weeks for about 18 days.. but then it dropped which was nice... as far as the eating, with purred, i was doing 1/3 of a cup and that worked. im 6 weeks out now and do 1/2 a cup to 3/4 of a cup MAX (very rare), because this is what is recommended in the binder.
To slow down, what i would do is take two mouth fulls and then wait 4-5 minutes and do it again. youd be surprised how quickly this becomes a habit. i also use a teaspoon (which i believe is recommended) One thing i do notice is when i am talking with someone or distracted, i eat it all very quickly.... not had a bad reaction yet other than my tummy talking to me and burp a lot, but it could happen.
I too feel as though i didnt have the surgery. I am never "stuffed" at the end of a meal" and wonder if it will start... i eat 3 meals a day and two snacks, eating about every two and a half hours.. getting about 700-800 calories a day, with upwards of 4 litres of water (never had an issue with water since day 1) and i exercise daily for about 45 minutes.. cardio only, which i started doing at two weeks.
you seem to be doing really well!
