so my surgery is on March 1...and according to my calculations (and given that feb is 28 days...so simple calculations)...i will be on my period on March 1.

So any one experience this? what the protocol? tampons? pads?!?? what do you wear into surgery anyway?  I'm going to ask at my preopt just wondering if anyone on the site knew the answer or experiences this...

Thanks!

Hey Girl,

Are you by chance on birth control?  I have done this before when I went on holidays and didn't want mine to show up.  You just continue with your next pack after you finish the one you are on...I'd you are on the pill that is.

If you aren't...I don't have a clue lol.

Good luck!!

Laura

I have an IUD and love it for this reason and many others....not like I can have more babies I also have my tunes tied lol

I am excited ...even though it still feels like a dream.

Tomorrow I will pack and then it will really feel real.

I had mine.  I brought pads.  Though they did have them at the clinic...definitely no tampons.  You aren't going to be doing any deep bending for a while and the last thing you want to do is have to get help removing a tampon.

You may have to wear some not so flattering mesh underwear the hospital gives you and a pad.  As much as it is uncomfortable and may make you feel self conscious, just remember that lots of people have surgery when on their period.  Pads it is for this time around most likely.  Bending can be uncomfortable.

Glad to see you have a great sense of humour.  Fancy panties for a later time .

Best of luck with your surgery.  I am six years post op and this has been the best thing I could have ever done.
