DR. Moussa in Cornwall
Hi everyone!
I'm starting the process of OHIP funded panni...I'm 2.5 years out, post sleeve.
I've done very well.
Has anyone had any experiences with him? The website "rate MD" gives some pretty scary stories about him and now I'm nervous.
Thanks and lots of love to everyone here.

Hi Kyena!
No, he is a plastic surgeon in Cormwall. The Ottawa Weight Management Center has referred me to him to see if he will do an OHIP funded panni for me.

He's actually not a plastic surgeon but a general surgeon. Many general surgeons will do a panni since that is all they are allowed to do. I personally wouldn't go to a general surgeon for this but many do. I went to a plastic surgeon and paid for the full tt. Not sure if you are thinking of upgrading to a tt or not.

I had mine almost 9 years ago and my plastic surgeon didn't work with OHIP so it was completely self pay. I paid $8500 plus tax, worth every penny. If you work with a surgeon that will apply to OHIP to the panni portion then the upgrade to a full tt will be much less.
You really want a plastic surgeon who works with wls patients. Dr. Moussa is not a plastic surgeon. Our skin is very different and we heal differently. After having multiple body contouring procedures I would not do it with a general surgeon. I had Dr. Nandagopal. He is in Scarborough and works with OHIP.
Dr Moussa is one of the surgeons that the Weight Management Clinic at the Ottawa Civic hospital is recommending.
I can't afford much and he accepts the OHIP funded panniculectomies. His wait time is really short too.
If the hospital recommends him, and his office is willing to do the paperwork for OHIP, I'm ok with it.

I totally understand. Can I suggest you ask the weight loss clinic for a couple of names of people he has done? Ask about bellybutton. Pure panni only address skin below belly button and nothing else. With ps you can upgrade to include moving belly buttoon vs losing it altogether, muscle work etc...
Mosst pss offer free consults. Good idea to see one to see what they offer and suggest before making up your mind.
