What-are-you-eating-doing-today-Thursday
Good morning everyone. Ready that is great about what the personal trainer said. I actually like that sore feeling the next day because it tells me that I worked hard. Such a difference between soreness from muscles after a good workout and soreness from injury or arthritis.
Today I have a doctor's appointment, and then a lot of errands. I really need to go to the grocery store.
The eats today are:
Lots and lots of decaf
Scrambled eggs (may throw in a few hot peppers)
shrimp with spicy mayo
Salmon with a little bit of Hollandaise to help it slide down
SKYR yogurt with some chia, hemp, and buckwheat
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning and happy friday eve everyone!
I'm busy packing for a dog show this weekend. My first weekend 'away' (even though I'll be home at night as this one is localish, I am going to be out of the house 7am-8pm every day this weekend). I'm 4.2 weeks out.
Today's good/bad/ugly...
B: premier protein shake (I got right back up on that curdled clumpy horse, and rode it as the sun came up. I survived!)
L: 1 HB egg and 1 RF sargento sharp cheddar stick
D: 3 slices thin deli ham and 2 wedges of laughing cow light
S: Dannon L&F Greek Raspberry (cause they expire in 6 days! ahhhh!)
S2: Babybel cheese and Kroger SF Popsicle.
Can I ask a question? When did everyone try chicken? Like, chicken chicken not canned (which I cannot handle the texture or taste of)? There's whole chickens on sale at No Frills and thought I'd pick one up and eat an ounce of the dark meat. I got a new Instant Pot for xmas and I am dying to actually cook something other than Pasta Fagioli soup for my aunts and hard boiled eggs LOL
I've been in a stall for 17 days so I'm going to the gym at lunch.
ETA: my stats lol duh

Be very careful with chicken. Try it at home, and take 1 small bite, chew the hell out of it and wait to see how your body reacts. Gravy helped me, and still does. Things getting stuck is not fun. I think I was 6 weeks out before I tried chicken. Guelph makes you wait 6 months before you try beef. They also make you wait 3 months before you try raw veggies or salad.
I hear you about expiry dates. It seems I am always trying to use something up before it expires.
If you have leftover chicken (and you will) there is a recipe floating around where you make Buffalo wing chicken salad. Basically take, powdered ranch dressing, add plain Greek yogurt, and as much Franks hot sauce as you like, then add your diced or shredded chicken. You can also add blue cheese crumbles. Lots of protein and it's moist enough to avoid getting stuck.

When you do try chicken, like CC said, keep it moist. Those small gravy packets are good to have around. Chew like crazy to see how it goes.
I ate chicken around 4 weeks out and steak at 6 with no issues. NOTHING fills me up faster and longer then chicken. 3 oz and I'm done done done. Now bread on the other hand, I am bottomless.
Hi sweetart,
I tried chicken during the soft food stage. I had heard many couldn't tolerate it and I start with one bite, it sat well but I left it at that and tried 2 bites the next meal. For me chicken has been my go to protein Spitse as I try tuna and other sources. I took everyone's advice and ensured the chicken was moist and I chewed it carefully and basically purée it in my mouth. I have a routine where I put 5 chicken breasts in the slow cooker with low sodium cambells chicken brother and cook it on low for several hours, it literally falls apart when you try to take it out and it's super moist, at this point you can do whatever you want with it. As is, I have easily shredded it with a fork and added a teaspoon of low fat mayo, salt and pepper and made chicken salad. I've also added a little Mexican seasoning and low fat shredded cheese and made tacos minus the shell obviously. It's easy to throw in a bag and just pull off small pieces like string cheese if you are on the go. As we learn everything is different for everyone, I've never been a dark water so I'm glad my new stomach toleratea chicken breast. I also had the sleeve and not the RNY so I'm not sure if that makes a difference
Day 9 of Optifast, so my meals are:
Optifast times 4, plus 2 cups green veggies (roasted broccoli and green peppers), clear broth, hot lemon water, water.
I think I may go get my hair trimmed, either today or tomorrow. We had over 4 feet of snow and now it's melting and the roads are slick, so I'll see how it goes later.

OMG 4 feet of snow. Just reading that makes me want to go to Florida for a vacation. Alright, I wanted to go to Florida before I read that, lol.
You're getting so close Kathy. I would suggest that you take all of your measurements now. There will be times when you stall (we all do) and you will find that your measurements are getting smaller. Now is the time to do a baseline set of measurements.
