Where to get Premier Protein
I was lucky that my family members in the Toronto area have a membership, so they picked some up for me and I paid them when I went down for my Pre-Op visit in Toronto last week. I'm also bringing some Whey Protein Isolate packs with me in case I can't tolerate the milk in the Premier Protein after surgery. I bought several samples from https://www.canadianprotein.com/sample-pack-whey-protein-iso late
I bought one of each flavor, and only tried 2 before starting Optifast. I found they mixed up well with no lumps and no chalky flavor, but one of the flavors (banana I think) was too sweet for my taste. The cappuccino was good, in my opinion. It can be mixed with either milk or water, and I used milk so it may be less sweet with only water.
Pre-Op Visit: Jan. 10, 2017, weight 304, surgeon: Dr. David Lindsay, St. Joe's, Toronto
1st Day of (3 weeks worth of) Optifast: Jan. 11, 2017
Surgery Date: Feb. 1st, 2017
Kathy
I didn't want to pay it either but now that I have had surgery I find that because I eat a ton of plain Greek yogurt which you can get 3 for under $12 and cottage cheese ( 2 for $5). Baby bel and laughing cow cheese and premier shakes. It's worth it .
There are other things as well but those are the main things .
I checked with Premier and Costco is their only retailer in Canada. They said they are hoping to add another one in 2017 but nothing firm yet.
Lately, I find the cost of the membership is worth it just for the savings on gasoline at Costco! It was 12 cents a litre cheaper today than the gas station down the street.
