Gas X Strips after surgery

Hi everyone

I am T-7 days :)

I had lap band surgery in 2013 - and I used Gas X Strips to help with the gas, and I think it worked.

Do they let us use those after RNY or VSG?

My surgery is at TWH

I bought them but never used them. Had no problem getting the air out. I was at st mikes for my surgery. 

I used them the first few days :)

Dont let the nurses at TWH  see you use it if you chose to as when hubby was at TWH we asked about it.  The nurses told us that it can delay your recovery and cause you to stay in hospital longer.

really?  that doesn't even makse sense to me...lol

The first think I remember - waking up in the OR after Lap Band was them shoving 2 of these strips in my mouth :)

Funny how it's all the same Ontario program - but every hospital has their own rules.

I won't bring them with me - and I won't ask...shhhh ...lol

Lap band maybe isn't as evasive... but I agree every hospital handles things slightly different.

Good luck - again I was only sharing from our experience with the nurses we encountered up on the floor and I happened to ask about the straps after reading on here and test was what we were told.

I apologize, this isn't related. I remember you saying you  were having your revision done in one surgery! Which hospital said they wanted to do the revision in two surgeries? 

I just for confirmation that I am accepted!! GOODBYE lap band. My options are Guelph or Toronto. 

My surgery is now back to TWH - but when I was briefly transferred to Guelph - I was told that none of the Drs there do it in one surgery - due to problems they have had in the past.

I think Guelph is faster - but TWH has been amazing

twh wouldn't let me use them , but I used them when I got home and they wirked wonders for me
