Guelph Here I come!!

Hi Everyone,

Well I am so excited to get a call today from TWH after clearing rounds for surgery December 1st.  As most of us already know TWH is experiencing a back log and if I was to stay with them my surgery wouldn't happen until around June of this year.  I was offered to have my file sent to Guelph for just the surgery as they currently aren't experiencing any back log and surgery dates are soon.  So I accepted as either hospital is a half hour away for me.

I want to thank everyone especially my significant other for all the support I have received and love.  This journey has been a great one and I am so ready to join everyone on the losers bench!!  The last couple of years have sure been rough on me and it is great to have some positive news.

For all of you who had your surgery in Guelph, how was your experience if you don't mind sharing with me.  I love the TWH team and just hope they too are amazing.

Congratulations!  When will you have your surgery in Guelph? 

Hi...and thank you!!  She said I would likely see the surgeon with in a couple weeks..and likely surgery end of February or March.  Will know more once I hear from Guelph though.

My surgery was in Guelph and the experience was very good.  The nurses, surgical staff, and doctors were great.  

Thank you for sharing....how long do they keep you in hospital there as TWH is 2 nights?

Had surgery very early on Thursday morning and went home Saturday night.

Ok thank you...that's basically like TWH.  I just wondered if it was like Humber where you go home the next day.  Again thanks for your help.

When I was at TWH yesterday, I asked about the whole Guelph thing and they were like oh were caught up so we probably wont be sending anymore over to Guelph. So that is exciting that you are having yours done there and fairly quickly.  All the best on your next step of this journey :) 

Thanks Candi....  well the lady calling and taking care of the bookings said there still was a backlog and that Guelph was helping relieve it.  I am excited as surgery may be February...which is much better then June lol.  Good luck with your journey as well and hope you get your surgery quickly.

I haven't had my surgery yet, but I was referred to Guelph in mid-December and have my surgery booked for January 30.  I went for my pre-op appointment today and I can confirm that every person I interacted with there has been very helpful and caring. I was also very pleased to be switched to Guelph since I live in Milton and the commute to Guelph is much easier. Good luck!
