That looks like a decent menu minus the banana.  Stay the course the weight should start coming off again. The stall could be because of your surgery.

Over 100 lbs lost! and 13 lbs below goal weight!

Good morning everyone!

B - 1/2 poached egg with 1 melba toast, not sitting too well today

S - premier protein

L - Cottage cheese 1/4-  1/2 cup

S - premier protein

D - chicken breast and maybe a tablespoon of sweet potatoes ( 4.5 weeks post op, what is the weight of how much chicken one should aim to eat?) my example menu just showed how much during the purée stage for meat which was 2 tablespoons, I typically haven't been able to eat the exact amounts in my example menus, but want to weigh everything to insure I'm not over consuming either.

Thanks for any advice

Be careful with chicken breast. Make sure you have something to make it moist. I usually have about 3 oz. I find thighs much easier to digest now. Pre surgery I always ate breast for lower fat but now have to be careful or it does not go down well

I was thinking that super moist chicken breast mixed with some sweet potatoe would be easiest. I did purée turkey over the holidays and it sat well! Granted it was a tablespoon worth. My intention is to chew lots and go slow and start with only a couple of bites and see how it feels. :-)

Cinderz Guelph says that the protein portion should not exceed 2oz.  I know that other Centres can differ from what Guelph says, but you are only a few weeks postop and I wouldn't exceed the 2oz recommendation.  Sometimes people have trouble eating chicken early out, especially if it is a little dry.  Take it slow and making add a sauce to help it slide down (salsa, gravy, cheese sauce)
