I start Optifast tomorrow

I'm getting a bit nervous - seemed like so far away, now it's already here!

I'm starting Optifast tomorrow - gave myself permission to eat whatever I want today.  Funny how the mind works - I don't feeling like eating anything, no cravings, no last meal ideas.  Tomorrow when I can't have it I'm sure I will want everything.

Thanks to everyone who post on this site - the information has been so helpful.

I start Opti on Thursday and I feel the same way- I've had a few of my favourites over the past week, but I think I've been mindful about portions and so on.  I wanted to be under 290 before I start Opti and I was 289 this morning, so I'm glad for that.

I'm hoping that the feeling of not wanting any specific food before starting Opti means that I have a healthier viewpoint and relationship with food now.

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

77 lbs lost and counting!

Losing the regain! I got this!

I look forward to seeing your posts.  Your surgery is less than 2 weeks before mine - it will be a great help to know how you are doing.  Wishing you all the best!

Hello

The night before Opti fast, I went out for dinner with my friends.

Our go to dinner out was always Asian.

I was surprised how very little I ate.  The portion and self control impressed my friends and quite honestly surprised me.

The Optifast was very hard.  (4) icy shakes (4) times a day in the winter was difficult.  I had them every (4) hours.  8 am, noon, 4pm & 8pm. I drank tea & coffee every hour in between. I found comfort in their warmth.

I drank 2-3 litre of water on top of the Opti & teas/coffee. You will be surprised how satisfied you are with appetite suppression.

I hope this helps!

Best of luck on your new journey!

Sandra

Thank you - very helpful.   I've already purchased some sugar free syrups and instant decaf coffee, just in case I struggle with the taste.  I know the first few days will be difficult, but it gets easier.  All the best for your surgery tomorrow!  Sending good thoughts your way.

Hi Tracks,

Congratulations on starting Opti! You're starting this journey for real!

I'm starting next Wednesday!  I can't wait to start.  I love food, but also feel like I'm in bondage to it, if that makes any sense. I am ready to break free.

I'm flying to Toronto on Sunday and that night I'm ordering pizza for the family I'm staying with, so that will be my last hurrah, lol.  I don't plan on over doing it though, just a slice or two, depending on how big the slices are.

Good luck with your Opti!  Let us know how it goes.

Kathy

Thanks Kathy!   I understand what you mean about food.   Makes total sense to me.
