Good afternoon and Happy New Year everyone!

I started the new year off by weighing myself this morning and I have finally made it under 300lbs!! One of my goals for 2017 is to reach Onederland!

My daughter had friends ove last night and everyone is just waking up and heading home, normally I'd be making a huge breakfast but this year I'm not.

My menu for today is

B - 1/2 package of high protein oatmeal

s - premier protein

L - 1/4 - 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese

S - premier protein

D - I am supposed to go for New Years dinner where they are serving roast beef and many other things so I'll stick to purée vegetables, and bring some soup to be safe

Have a great day everyone!

Thank you so much crqvingchange!

I have to be honest when I say I have really surprised myself at how far I've come in the last 4 weeks. From regretting it the first day, to embracing it by day 3, but most importantly at the mental aspect of it. During the optifast stage I came to terms to a lot of the mental aide of my relationship with food, optifast also allowed me to completely detox from all the crap I'd been used to putting into my body, it has been 8 weeks  since I started optifast, 4 weeks since surgery and I haven't once put anything in my mouth that wasn't recommended, I've sat through 2 Christmas dinners and a New Years dinner with many of my previously favorite foods, including deserts and it never phased me, not once did I feel sorry for myself for not being able to partake in the festivity foods, not once did I think "well just a little taste won't hurt". I brought my own measuring cups/spoons, added protein powder and just enjoyed the company while eating what I was allowed and being impressed with not being able to finish even that little allowable portion size. I rarely toot my own horn but I am proud of myself at how I've easily made the changes that I questioned even when lying on the operating table. Your positive comment has just given me even more incentive to keep doing what I'm doing.

My kids (7 and 4) both made it to midnight last night too. My 4 year old was a wreck and was having bad dreams and I couldn't sleep either.  We were at the Lamplighter with a bunch of friends so the kids could swim etc and the adults could hang out without anyone worrying about rides etc.  Well around 3am my daughter wouldn't go back to sleep after her dreams so we left the hotel and came home. I finally fell asleep around 4:30 and woke up at 11am. Still super tired.

Optifas****er and some herbal tea for me today.

It's my dad's birthday so I'll be watching everyone else eat cake. :)

Stay strong.   Optifast phase will be over before you know it. Enjoy the family party and focus on socialising.

I think we both need a nap. Let me guess, your daughter slept all the way home in the car?
