Thank you everyone for the insight...and YES i should have included FUR DADs...not sure why I missed that.  I do have a type of dog in mind (sheepadoodle) but i'm such a suck for a rescue.  So i think either I wait 3 months POST OP...or I get one NOW that way when surgery comes around the pooch will be a bit older.  (TWH told me they were booking for end of April right now...and they told me by the time I was through it would probably be end of may...)

I really just wanted to take advantage of the 4 weeks off...

As usual...great advice from the FORUM...you guys are GREAT!

What in the world is a sheepadoodle??? You do realize that that is creative marketing for a mixed breed? Please don't pay a ton of money to a unscrupulous breeder for a mixed breed. Rescue one. Mixed bred dogs are awesome, but please don't buy one from a con man.

Yes it's a mix...Old english sheep dog X standard poodle.  I am looking at rescue poodles, but to be honest I have come across one that works with my family.  I have another animal and I have kids (grade school)...all the poodles i have come across in rescue either had an issue with other animals or with kids...

If anyone knows of a poodle or poodle cross who is in need a family home please PM me!

Thanks everyone
