DIETICIAN APPOINTMENT
Had a great appointment with Lorraine from TWH via OTN at the hospital in Orillia. I can't tell everyone how wonderful it is to have your appointments via "Skype". You avoid travel time, traffic and I paid $3.00 for parking (lol). I was in by 8:15 in the morning and back at work by 10:30. So much more efficient.
I did my homework after the nutrition class and included a page summary of the changes I have already put into place, the challenges I am having, and my plans - both before and after surgery. I wanted her to get to know me a bit prior to the appointment and I believe it helped.
I have read some of the posts where some going through this process see each (or some) appointments as a "pass and fail". Although this is actually true, I have never seen it as that. I see it as an opportunity to learn, show each team member what you have learned and what you understand. It is a big decision and they want you to be successful in your journey. We need to actually "get it" or we will not be prepared. Like most, I wanted to rush the process, but I find as I go through each stage of the process, I learn more and become better prepared. This site also gives great insight from those who are experiencing everything from being booked for the orientation, to five years post-surgery.
The dietician appointment went great and I'm on to my psych. appointment in the new year. This has turned into be a introspective journey towards better health by a very thankful traveler.

So I had my dietician today and also had a really great experience. I too did my assessment which i didn't think was too hard, but I also had a Summary at a glance "cheat sheet" type of thing that I created on my own, so I really "learned" the phases, the vitamins etc.
So I'm in the same boat as you - dietician cleared me and I'm on to psych in a couple weeks.
I concur, it really has been an introspective journey and I'm excited about the new year.
