What are you eating/doing today ( Wednesday )
Good afternoon everyone!
I managed to get maybe half my "major house cleaning" spree done yesterday. I really only have today and tomorrow to finish cleaning and getting up my Christmas decorations as I am not sure I'll be up to it post op. What's on my menu for today???
B, L, D and snack - Optifast with decaf coffee and a couple drops of French vanilla extract and benefibre!
second snack - 1 cup vegetable broth
Yesterday my daughter asked if she could make a shake for me, I was hesitant because I have a routine and have perfected the way I like it, but I agreed and just stood back and watched. I was impressed to see how she has actually been watching me for the last 3 weeks, she did everything in the order I do, and when it was done was perfect! I can't believe I only have 18 more shakes to go until surgery! I started out at 112!!!!
Have a great day everyone
Hi birdiegirl,
Right you are! She is wonderful. Positive support is a must on this journey. I sometimes wonder who is more excited about my surgery, me or her lol
I have an older daughter as well, lives on her own, she is supportive but doesn't quite understand the commitment and the few times I've seen her while I've been on optifast she was always trying to shove food down my throat, not to sabatoge me but more so because I think she felt bad and kept saying "just one bite mom, you've got to be starving" The most recent was yesterday when she was trying to get me to lick the knife that she used to cut the cheesecake with, I told her it wasn't about whether licking the knife was ok or whether it would compromise my shrunken liver, it was about commitment. I haven't veared off optifast for one second and had no intention of it with less then a week to go!
You sound ready to go, good.
You might want to have a discussion with your elder daughter re pushing food. There will come a time, and hopefully it's not until after you reach goal, that commitment is tougher and food pushers may win. They may mean well, but it can set you up for sabotage.
All the best
Love your attitude. You've got this.
