The night before my surgery
Yay bamboo! Good luck with your surgery! My suggestions is to bring very little with you. I brought a few things none of which were needed. The only real things I used was my health card, phone with charger and my slippers for walking on the floors. That's it!

You must be sooo excited!!!
You don't need to bring a lot. Cell phone/charger (which i forgot) and I would suggest earphones to listen to music or something. If your hospital experience is anything like mine.....you don't get a lot of rest with all the noise and people coming in and out.
You will do great. I maintain walking as soon as possible and as much as possible really helps the recovery process move along.
Get ready for and exciting and crazy new world !!!!

Good luck!!
I recommend ear plugs and a sleeping mask. My roommate had knee replacement surgery and was in a lot of pain. The nurses came in every 30 minutes to check on her. There were also a lot of elderly people on the floor and you could hear them yelling/crying. I was near the nurses station and they had one elderly woman who was in a wheelchair with a tray. She asked every person that walked by if they could let her out. She was very sweet and the nurses were very good with her.
