I like the don't be stressed be prepared.  I think I will have to pin this to the December calendar.  I also liked the suggestions on what to bring to a pot luck.   Thanks so much for taking the time to pass on some advice.  It is very much appreciated.

Most parties seem to have great protein options ... cheese, a shrimp platter, veggies and dip ... so far I have found parties pretty easy to navigate.  The hardest part is finding a beverage ... my go-to at parties lately is regular water and asking the bartender to put in just a splash of cranberry juice (like 1 oz) for colour/flavour.

Thanks for the reminder of all the great protein options that are normally at parties.  As for the drinks I recently went to a wedding where I brought Ocean Spray Diet Cran-Lemonade and had the bartender give me a glass and ice.  It is so yummy.  My new favourite is the Ocean Spray diet Cran-Mango.  Both are 10 calories per serving so are TWH friendly.

Awesome tips in here! As someone in maintenance, I'll add that I don't worry about the odd treat because I'm on my game day to day. For the holidays, I pick my treats selectively (wine OR dessert OR cheese etc). Christmas Day is a bit of a free day so I watch it at parties and other gatherings leading up to the 25th and often skip the food at those altogether (eating my regular stuff). It's not a two month free-for-all, its just 2 or 3 slightly more indulgent meals. I also add in a bit of extra cardio and when January rolls around, I'm fine. I have yet to gain any weight over the holidays in four years.

For someone so newly post-op, I recommend staying on track as much as possible but for others further out who might be reading this thread, I hope this is helpful.
