You are not even 2 weeks post op so of course you might feel tired easily.  Your body has to recover and even if you feel sort of normal and no pain, you are still healing inside.  It can take a month or more to get over anesthetic.  I wouldn't worry about feeling exhausted this early out.  I wouldn't worry about getting too much food in just yet either.  If you find it easier to get the protein by drinking then drink it for now.  Most people are still on full liquids at this stage so having protein shakes or adding in protein powder to soups, oatmeal, is a way to get it in.  When I had surgery we weren't even to aim for 1/2 cup at each meal, it was more like 2 tbsp of this or that like 8 times per day. They also weren't too concerned with drinking with meals at this stage since everything is full fluids so technically liquid.  You may not be feeling real hunger I'd try to drink slowly when you think you feel hunger as often we think it's hunger when it's actually thirst.

I can tell you that as of today, I'm a month out and I get 60 - 90g of protein + all vita's and I STILL have moments where I feel tired/exhausted. You have to keep in mind that this was a major surgery. Your body is bouncing back from that. Up until a week ago, give or take, I was still napping a lot. Hang in there, hon.

I too find myself tired which is funny because I'm not really doing anything yet. 2 weeks post op for me and I'm resting lots. Tomorrow I have an appointment to get snow tires on my car. Was hoping to do a bit of shopping but will see how I feel before I attempt that. I do climb the stairs in my house many times during the day for the washroom so happy that I can do that with ease.  I just started today with my puréed foods but limited to 1 poached egg for lunch and 1/4 cup bean and bacon soup with 1/4 cup water blended for dinner. Both were so yummy.  That's all I'm able to eat so far at one time 1/2 a cup.  I have protein shakes premade from GNC I bought which have been a lifesaver for me to get in the protein. Tomorrow I'm going to cook up some skinless boneless chicken thighs and see if I can get in a couple tablespoons of that concoction!

I don't find myself hungry whatsoever though and am truly only eating because I know I have to get that protein in. Anyone else like that?

I am 6 wks post op and am still only eating 1/4 servings but i do get in all required water, vits and protein daily. I eat 6x per day at 1/4 servings. I have not felt hunger nor do I feel full but I do feel pressure/discomfort if I eat more than a 1/4 cup. At this stage it's best to focus on the water, vits and protein. I make protein shakes using plain fat free Greek yogurt 3/4 cup of Greek yogurt 1/4 c water and a heaping scoop of protein powder gives me 48 gr of protein and the rest I get from food. I love cottage cheese and actually like eating plain Greek yogurt too which are both a good protein source. Also chili goes down good and is a good protein.

Sounds like you're done by well Leslie. I am trying 1/2 cup which seems to be the perfect amount. Tonight I ate 3 oz of puréed chicken and felt full but not in discomfort. I won't pu**** past that though the because it seems to fill the spot and can get in some protein that way. I eat the yogurt with protein powder but it really isn't my fav.
