What are you eating/doing today? (Sunday)

Good morning everyone.  Looks like it's going to be a nice sunny day.

This morning I'm going to Zumba, then later out for brunch with my inlaws.  I am dreading my visit with the inlaws.  My MIL stresses both DH and myself.  I don't go to buffets very often, but with her it makes it easy when she starts pushing buttons, to say we need to go check out what's new on the hot table.  It's a lot of me pushing food around on my plate and mostly eating scrambled eggs, lol.

Later on in the day, DH and I hope to visit a friend, then it's a quiet night in front of the TV and a cozy fire.

The eats are not planned.  This is what I do have so far - protein latte, scrambled eggs, bowl of soup for dinner.  If there is shrimp or goat cheese on the buffet I will have some of that.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning CC. Have fun at the inlaws. I hate going to buffets now, never really went to them before but now it just seems a waste for the amount. Today is a lazy day for me. Well, i have to have my hair redone. I get extensions every 2-3 months and it's time. Going to be 3hrs in the chair, then do a bit of grocery shopping and i'm definitely putting up the tree today. Have to stop eating crackers. I am carb sensitive and i retain a lot of water when i eat salty food. So today since the nausea seems to be at bay, i'll will eat regular foods.

3yrs post op

B - coffee 10%, 2 egg omelette with feta, 2 slices bacon

L - 2.5oz chicken breast, mixed veg

S - 2.5oz veal tongue

D - 4oz tilapia, 1/3 cup zucchini

S - tea, quest protein bar

Totals: 944 calories, carbs 14, fat 47, protein 106

Have a great day all, Nia.

Just curious about your calories for the day.  They seem very low for 3 years post-op.  Are you still trying to lose weight or do you need to eat this low to maintain your weight?

This is how many calories i can eat when i eat "properly" the way we are supposed to. The most i can do is 1200 on some days unless i eat junk or off plan. My totals are low as i have had trouble in the past. My centre would like me to be a bit higher which is a struggle sometimes but i feel content from 900-1200.

Oh dear, i hope not. I still live on gravol but was told not to take too much as it has rebound effects and make you feel more nauseous. Unfortunately, today i only ate breakfast and nothing else till dinner. I will have tea before bed and a protein bar.

That's not good.  Davids, just off Victoria by the expressway, sells a protein drink that is like juice in different flavours.  I think it's called Blu Dot, and has 10g of protein for 50 calories.  The flavour I bought was apple and pear.  That might be more soothing to your stomach.  It is a whey protein isolate, and has 5g of fiber from inulin, and uses a Stevia sweetener.

Thanks CC, I'll check it out. I was going to buy some Quest from the low carb store. I know not all protein powders are created equal, i was also looking into the President Choice brand. Quest is kind of pricey too.

The Blu Dot isn't a protein powder, it's ready to drink in a glass bottle.  They are single serve bottles, but I usually just drink a half at a time.  Bulk Barn has whey protein isolate powders in unflavoured and chocolate.  They're are the cheapest price I've found for whey, and I like that I can buy them in bulk, so I only buy a little at a time, and wait for a sale at Bulk Barn.
