TWH anyone have luck getting in on cancellations

Hello,

I had my orientation at TWH today (WOOHOO) and I asked if they keep a list of people to call who are interested in getting appointments that have opened up due to cancellations and I was told no, but that I could just call every so often and ask.

Just wondering if anyone on here has had any luck with that?

I was able to get 2 appointments earlier by calling, and 3 others  by talking to the nurse when I had my first appointment with her .  

Originally, my orientation was May, and I was able to get it to April. Nurse was July 23 or 25 but I got July 13th. When I went in to see the nurse, my nutrition class was scheduled for September 6. I asked her about my other appointments and she said I would get them at the nutrition class.  I asked if there was any way of getting the appointments sooner, so she said she would see what she could do.  I got a call the next day with the dietitian and psychology appts.  The dietitian was August, and I had to have my nutrition class first, so they fit me in to nutrition class on July 25th.

So I was finished all my appointments by Sept 21- 5 months from orientation, cleared for surgery the same day. I was supposed to see the surgeon on November 25, but found out the other day, all surgeon appointments for November and December have been rescheduled.  So I will see the surgeon on January 6.  They were booking surgeries 4-5 months from the date people saw the surgeon, but I'm hoping that with a 2 month period of no bookings, it will be 2-3 months instead.  Trying to stay optimistic.

When were you told all Nov/Dec Surgeon apps were changed?

I have my meet the surgeon appt on Nov 18th - and I have not been told that anything was changed yet.

Now you have me worried...lol

PS  -I'm at TWH

I got them changed - it wasn't that hard actually! Totally call or talk to someone when you are there.
