Still Losing
I know some people may roll their eyes and "wish they had my problem" when reading this post, but I'm truly concerned.
I am 20 months post op. I've reached my goal (YAY) But I'm still losing. I guess the solution is add more food. But I'm not really sure how to do that because many things still upset my pouch.
I thought that the weight loss was supposed to level off at 18 mos. I haven't seen that yet. I don't want to lose any more.
When I hit 150 I thought "I could be happy at this weight" so my game plan was get down to 130 so if there was bounce back I'd be OK sitting at 150. When I told the HRRH dietician my plan she was skeptical thinking I likely wouldn't see 130. (I didn't really think I would either it was just my plan).
Well I'm at 130 (128.5 as of this morning) and I'm concerned because the weight still seems to be coming off.
How do you add more food without it being the wrong food? Would I really have to add that much or would a spoonful of peanutbutter do it?
Please help. I don't want to be emaciated.
TIA

Do you mind sharing your height? Im not speaking from experience however I've seen similar posts. Apparently we get used to seeing ourselves so big that even at an 'overweight' classification we feel ideal. Not sure if you are considered ideal weight or under. There is a mathematical equation (goal weight x 10 is calories u need to ingest for maintenance I think) so if u are consuming less than that then that might explain the loss?

Start adding in healthy fats and carbs. You mention a lot of things up-set your stomach so it is hard to suggest things to you. Post what a typical meal is and perhaps people can chime in with some suggestions. also an appointment with your dietitian to go over your meals may help.
You mention peanut butter. That would be a healthy snack. Most nuts are. So a few almonds or walnuts. Look at what agrees with your pouch and add from there.
These will up your calories without adding much volume
Full fat Parmesan cheese - sprinkle liberally on meats
Full fat shredded cheeses
Slider foods like 2% cottage cheese and greek yogurt
Raw nuts and seeds, sunfloeer, almonds, walnuts, chia, flax
Salad dressings and dips for your vegetables or meat
Melt butter on your cooked veggies
Eat more frequently..,6 times a day
Tortillas, baked pita chips, other crackers
Increase your starches.... Couscous, quinoa, beans and lentils, corn, peas, white and sweet potatoes
Eat more fruit
I lost too much and was underweight for a while, but I'm 5 years out in January now and have regained 35lbs...some which I am now losing again. Each year out your eating will change a bit and then stabilize eventually.
Hi Pink
wouldn't it have been nice if you thanked the people on this forum ( ontario) as you did on the main forum?
It's not just you, so many ask a question and then never return to say "thanks".
And sending people to the "main" forums doesnt help to keep this one alive and relevant.
This used to be the busiest forum on OH. But it takes contributions and appreciation.
I learned so much on the Ontario forum but now it seems just a stopover for most. Makes me sad
I get about 30 seconds to review this site. It's not as much as I would like, but it is what it is. I've simply lost track of which posts I'm replying to. I'm not on here much for that very reason. This is why I don't typically post in more than one forum. I cannot keep up and much of the info isn't relevant to me nor do I have anything to add.
Thank you all for your responses. I have read them and will re-read to process and apply any changes I can based on the advise above.
