TWH surgery dates

at yesterday's nutrition class, the dietician mentioned that currently surgeries are being scheduled 4-5 months out from the time you meet the surgeon....just thought I'd pass along this tid bit of info...

Yes, that's what I was told in September also.  Since it sounds like the surgeons aren't seeing anyone in November and December, I'm hoping that they will be down to 2-3 months by the time I get to see the surgeon on January 6.  

Hi Tanya, I'm with TWH and finished my last appointment (Surgical Consult) October 21 and got a date of January 5 (so thrilled). That's only 2 months and a few weeks. I recall one of my classes there, they said if the patient is "easy" in that they have no health issues/concerns, no heart issues, no need for additional testing.... that they are nice and easy for the Surgeon, than they take those first, regardless of when you see the Doctor for your consult. I believe they're always looking for individuals who will have little to no complications from the surgery....clean and simple. I'm lucky I think. I've got no issues (no diabetes, no BP, no heart or cholesterol troubles, no respiratory issues...), I'm ripe for the procedure in a way! They were really firm on supports being in place, and noted that when I brought someone with me to the Nutritional class, they took note of it (I think)... I'm just tossing out theories here. 

Good Luck Tanya, I think you'll get a date sooner than their over-estimate. They're just trying to manage expectations.

When i was there on Friday, TWH is NOT booking until late March. I was in the last group to meet the surgeon.. they are not allowing ordering of optifast and not booking.. very discouraging.. hope they get it together soon
