What are you eating/doing Thursday?
Good morning Ladies!
How is everybody today? Nia I hope you had a better day yesterday! Good news from the doctor yesterday, I'm improving and expected to make a full recovery.....all this grief just from crossing your legs!!
Not much on the go today. Have a couple projects closing this afternoon that should provide me a little bit of work. Sounds like its going to be a nice day for a walk at lunch.
Needing to change up the menu .... here's a start but will need to do some cooking this weekend to get ready for next week. Gotta get this scale in overdrive (or reverse???) LOL.
7 months post op
B - lite & fit greek yogurt with 1/4 cup Vector
S - 5 meatballs (2.2 oz)
L - zucchini pizza casserole
S HB egg, cucumber slices
D - meaty spag sauce
Total Cals 956, carbs 55, protein 85
Does anybody think at this stage I'm eating too many calories? I try to keep the majority of them from protein, and I know everyone has a different opinion, so lets hear yours!
Good morning :)
Ginny, I think my clinic said 650-800 calories during the active weight loss stage, but I think from 6-11 months I was in the 800-900 calorie range. I think if you are averaging 1-2 pounds per week loss now that is pretty good. My rate of loss really slowed down as I got closer to my low weight.
Today I'm just running errands. I have to pick up meds to treat this bug I caught from the puppy. The doctor is only concerned because it has caused me to lose weight (I'm sure jus****er). It's hard enough for me to get in water on a good day. This is not a good way to lose weight.
Breakfast - protein soft serve
Snack - egg, cheese
Lunch - beef, veg
Snack - ham, pickles
Dinner - chicken and veg
Snack - pudding
All water and vits.
Morning all. Thanks G, i feel a lot better today although the allergies have kicked in now and i'm sneezing and have itchy eyes. Oh well, could be worse.
Glad to hear you are recovering from crossing your legs. I started to have that same problem and now i have to make a conscious effort not to cross them all the time. As for the calories count, i think you are doing fine. Mind you i had trouble throughout my weight loss phase that i was lucky to hit 700 cals at a yr out ,no such problems now ;). Maybe someone else will chime in but, i think you're doing fine.
Off to placement in a bit and will try Zumba tonight. Maybe i should take a gravol before i go.
B - Coffee 10%, 1 boiled egg, 4 little shrimp, 1 mini meatball, 1/4 cup zucchini
L - 3oz smoked pork chop, 1/2 cup steamed veg
S - 1/2 oz old fort, 2 slices calabrese
D - 3oz steak
S - 1 quest bar
Have a great day all. Gotta run.
Hi Ginny, So long as you are still losing weight on the amount of calories you are eating you will be fine. The further out you are the slower the loss. If you stop losing for a few weeks then you will know to cut back as you may have slipped into maintenance.
Out tonight to women's group. Making jam and crafts for our up-coming sale.
b could not face food this morning
l pea/lentil/ham soup, yogurt
s baby bel
d chicken, salad
tea
Ginny that's good news about your legs. Ginny Guelph said 600-800 calories during the losing phase. Nia I'm glad you're feeling better.
Today I've already been swimming and later I will do more yard work. I'm waiting for a package of protein latte to be delivered and I hate waiting around. It's nice to have a hot protein drink before I go swimming. Swimming with a full stomach always make me feel queasy.
The eats today are - protein coffee, Greek yogurt, salad with goat cheese, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, and another protein latte before bed.
Have a great day everyone.

RNY 7 Years 7 Months Post Op
Afternoon
Just got off the golf course so my steps are good already today. Eats have been really good the past 10 days so I think I'm on a roll. Feel pretty good too.
Ginnny - I think your calories look fine. I might have thought them a little high a few months ago - but now I think at 7 months out they are appropriate for your level of activity. ( I am assuming you are quite active? sorry cant remember) I cycled my calories for the first year - some days 900 - 1000 and some days 500 - 7-- and I never had a stall. You are a lightweight so things might work differently. I just know you want to get it off as fast as possible. Not just because your body will adjust to its new configuration - but because you will get tired of paying close attention and will likely want to eat more variety as you get out further.
Your goal weight - is it on the low side of normal? If so great - otherwise I would adjust it down to the low end of a normal BMI. It really gets tougher further out and you want to leave some room for bounce back.
Why not try dropping 150 calories and see how it goes? I hear you re hunger - change your breakfast to denser protein and ensure your dinner has more dense protein then anything else. If you dropped the yogurt and cereal in the morning and just had the meatballs would that keep you satiated until lunch? If so - change it up
Don't eat to get full. Eat to calm hunger. Really try hard on this one. Don't chase that old feeling of being full.
I just cant emphasize enough to get the weight off as fast as possible. Slow and steady does NOT win the race. In the case of wls - the race goes to the fastest. Buckle down hard and get it off
STEPS: YESTERDAY - 4421 ( I SLEPT A LOT)
EATS
B - 1 Eggbeaters cup ( 60 calories) plus one sargento cheese string melted into the eggs
Ginnny - this kept me going from 6:30 until I had lunch at 12:30 - plus coffee and water in between
L - 3/4 cup of tuna salad
1 cup of romaine lettuce
D - 2 egg omelet with 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar
S - Pumpkin spice creamer in my coffee
3 triscuits and 3 cracker cuts
Dannon light and Fit Greek
MYFITNESSPAL totals for the above menu are: Calories - 866, Carbs - 27 Grams, Protein - 91 Grams
Note: I am trying to go low today as I am not out for dinner like most nights. So its a good opportunity for me to cut my calories
All water and vits
Have a great one
Thanks Birdie!
My typical breakfast has been 1 egg with 1 cheese slice, and no that would not hold me until noon, hence the 10 ish am snack. Usually I eat at 7 am, 10 am, 12:30, 3:00 and 6:00 - If I need a snack I have one
I will try having more dense protein at meal times and cut out the morning and afternoon snacks and see if that works. I typically only eat meat at dinner, can't be bothered with the other stuff (except for chili but going to change up my recipe for that too).
My personal goal weight is 160, (which is BMI 21.6 which is in the middle of normal). I may never get there. I'm 6'0 on a large frame. I'm fairly active, yes. The clinic doesn't want me lower than 180...pfft to them. People already say I'm skinny or too skinny, don't lose any more....pfft to them too!
I would normally eat smaller meals and have 2 - 3 snacks a day. Maybe I will try and shake that up. I certainly am the smallest I can ever remember being, but I still see where I need to lose more. I do weigh everything, and don't eat till I'm full. Although I am eating good things, like you say maybe they are not the right things for me. Going to have to think about this over the weekend .... look for a different menu plan from me for next week!
Thanks for you advice!
