Today is a big day!!!  No, not because of the Presidential Election in the US....lol  (although the whole world will be watching).

I start my 2 week pre-surgery liquid Opti-fast diet today!!  I'm excited.  I'm nervous.  I want this to be the start of a new, incredible, amazing journey!!  And I want my surgery and recovery to go well......

Wish me luck, and send me prayers and positive vibes for these two weeks and my sleeve surgery on Nov 22!  I'm counting on my OH family!!  I've learned so much from all of you and I'm so grateful for this support!!

Good luck Porridge!  How do you like the optifast?

I'm still waiting for a call for my preop visit to meet the team and get my optifast.

Sending prayers and positive vibes.

Kathy 1212,

I would like to say it was good.  But I find it really nasty. I had the chocolate for breakfast.  Makes me want to gag.  I'm gonna try colder water and another SF flavouring.  I think it's best not go slowly for me and just drink it fast without stopping.  Haven't had the vanilla one yet. Will have it for lunch.  Might be better.

Either way, I know it's necessary and I will stick with it.  I want to do whatever I can to be prepared for the surgery.

Thanks for the good wishes!!  Let us know when you have your pre-op.  Hopefully it's soon!!

I definitely found in the beginning, the colder the better. I blended mine with ice. Adding spoonful of decaf instant coffee helps cut the sweetness. But after a while I got used to it. To the point I could just bring a pack with me and shake it up in a water bottle when I was on the go. No ice, no additional flavourings.

Its also easier when your body gets into ketosis.

Sweetart,

Thanks, good luck to you too!!!

Im really nervous....even wondered if many people change their mind the last minute.  I won't though.  I decided I will work hard and do this.  I hope and pray everything will go well and I will be a success like so many others.!!

We can do this!!!!

Hey Porridge!

Good luck with the Optifast! For some it is nasty(me included) and for others it was Delicious. Make the best of it. If you need to experiment with different ways to get in down, go for it! I certainly tried different things.

We are all here for each other, so don't hesitate to ask more questions.

Cheers,

Skotti

Skotti,

Thank you for the encouragement.  I had my first one this morning, chocolate, and it was rough going down.  LoL. Not sure why, just something about it makes me gag.  I tried to add hazelnut SF syrop, but no help.  I ended up chugging it, to get it down.  Maybe the vanilla at lunch might be better.....and maybe with some raspberry SF syrop.

I will make the best of it.  I know it's necessary.  Will have some broth and SF jello today too.  I know I can do it!,

I will have tons of questions moving forward....stay tuned!
