So upset
pretty sure you can have our file transfered to another center but you end up starting all over. I've seen people go threw Humber who live 30 minutes from hospital and it take them 16 months also. All you can do is call and enquire if you can transfer or not but chances are the time lines are very similiar for all hospitals.
Not sure TWH is much faster. it was 15 months from referral to surgery for me. and someone posted recently yhat they are migrating all surgeries to TWH now so the transition is creating a temporary lag
TWH ... Referral April 2015 ... Orientation July 2015 ... Psych Sept 2015 ... Social Worker Oct 2015 ... Nurse Practitioner Dec 2015 ... Nutrition Class Jan 2016 ... Nutritionist Feb 2016 ... Surgeon Appt April 2016 ... VGS Surgery July 2016

I'm going through Sudbury I got my phone call for 1 on 1's 7 weeks after my orientation. And they are scheduled in March four months away. It seems like a long wait but time flies and during that time start making the changes, start trying food that you will be eating and cutting out things you won't be able to eat. It will help make the transition after surgery easier.
I really hope you can get it sorted out. :(
I have been on the waiting list for a year, and here in Nova Scotia the wait times are 5-7 years. Just heard from someone else that any new referrals coming in are 10 years! Sickening.

Application for VSG in 2014. Got letter in Sept. '15 saying I was on waiting list for WLS Info Session (Step 1). Said wait times are approx. 5-7 years, as they're currently attending to 2009 referrals here in NS.
Thanks so much. Yes, it's very disheartening for a lot of us here.
I heard that MSI will cover the procedure out of province but I can't seem to find another hospital outside of NS that is accepting out of province referrals! So... MSI will cover it, but it's no use if you can't get referred.
I can't afford to go to a private clinic, nor across the border... so I'll just have to wait it out like so many others.

Thank you everybody for being there for me when I was upset. It's been a couple of days now and because of your understanding and encouragement, as well as the support of my family, I have calmed down and am ready to do what is needed and wait for as long as needed. I'll take this time to focus on diet and nutrition, and changing my lifestyle choices. I knew going into this, it would take time, I just let my frustration get the best of me. Sending out love to all of you. Thank you.
