Surgery done- loser bench ready?
Good Evening all
had my surgery yesterday at 1:00 instead of 2:00 yep, they moved quicker than expected on their previous surgeries. Got out of surgery at 3:20 and took to the pacu. Had very little pain but could barely keep my eyes open. I was a lot more awake around 6:00-7:00pm.
With regards to the operation. Everything went super well
I was calm to the last minutes, a was put to sleep with 2 minutes entering the operating room. Also at Civic you do not lay on a cold metal bed, it's like a big spongy human form that you lay on, super comfy and cushioning.
The pain after the operation never got over 4 on a scale of 10
None of the cuts hurt, some are tender but that's it. I only have a sensation of a cramp across my liver. That is it? The doctor jokingly said, it's due partly from gaz and the fact that I cut your stomach inserted staples and move your liver... lol but seriously I am not in a lot of pain, I would call it more uncomfortable than pain. Been sipping and walking Yesterday about 15-30 minutes:) very slowly but did the hospital ward about 7-8 times. Got some burping but so far no poo or farting. Will get on the milk of magnesia tomorrow:)
also a very nice news for me, the dressing on my cuts is waterproof so, doctor said I can shower tomorrow they should be updating the after care book at the Civic to reflect that.
Going home today around noon, liquid is coming down very well and I take my walks and move my feet.
pleae don't hesitate to ask questions.
Alex coming to the loser bench
Congrats!
Lucky you with the cushy thing to lay on! When I had my surgery, it was that cold metal table and when I finally woke up my back hurt so bad they had to give me morphine--it wasn't even surgery pain, it was just my back from laying on the damn table.
