Wow, that is amazing!  I'm so happy for you.  I'm just starting out and your post is really inspirational.  I'm having surgery in January, and it finally feels real to me.  It is so nice to read about your success. Are you feeling better, physically, than when you were bigger?

Hi Kathy1212,

Prior to surgery I was in a wheelchair. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in 2014 and the pain was so bad I was unable to walk. I didn't leave my house for almost a year, except for doctor apps.

I had to take a leave from work due to my inability to walk. It was a long, dark 2 yrs,  but I'm now back to work and only using a cane.

I do have to have both my knees replaced, and just waiting to see the knee surgeon.  I'm hoping to have them done by the end of next year.

So the answer to your question would be a definite yes. This surgery saved my life in so many ways.

Referral - September/14, Orientation HRRH - December 1/14, Surgeon appt. (Dr. Starr) - April 24/15, Trio appts. - July 21/15, Dr. Glazer - August 17/15, switched surgeon to Dr. Huynh Feb. 17/16, Surgery date - March 2/16-

1 year follow up - Lost 82% of my excess body fat. Starting weight 315lbs, today 151lbs.

Wow, I had no idea.  You've gone though so much.  I'm so happy to hear that you're doing so much better, and can walk using a cane.  I hope your knee surgeries will help even more.
