Hello everyone,

My name is Allyce and I'm the new kid on the block. I am 20 years old, and after much "prep" from sick kids over the years, I have finally got my orientation date at TWH. I ended my obesity management program at Sick Kids, about a year/a year and a half ago. At the time of my exit, I kept telling myself that I was going to magically "get my stuff together" on my own. I believe that was just my stubbornness about the wait time. Then in August I finally said to myself "A year from now, I will wish I had started today." Now here I am with my orientation date!

I realize this journey is a long one, but I'm so excited to be starting this new chapter. (Or at least on the path to it!)

I have followed this forum for so long, but waited until now to actually join. Writing the first part of my signature alone.... what a feeling.

What were/are your wait times at TWH? And your experiences? Let me know!

Congratulations on your next steps ... I had a fantastic experience with TWH from the clerk at the desk (Andrew) to the nurses and Dr. Okrainec who did my surgery.  You can see my timelines in my signature ... at first I thought it was such a long wait but then all of a sudden it was here and now I'm feeling lighter not only in my weight but in my soul! Best thing I ever did for me!

Thank you ladies!

I'm so happy. I think back to this time a year ago, and it's hard to believe how fast it goes. Good things take time and hard work.

Thankfully I've got college and work to keep my mind occupied, as the time goes by. :)
