What do I do now?

Hi All.

I have gone through orientation.  I have my next three appointments starting in November.  I don't know what I should be doing now.  I have been trying to train myself to not drink while eating and wait 30 minutes after, but other than that I haven't a clue.  Any thoughts?

Try to cut out or back on white carbs, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes.  Also switch to decaf if you drink coffee, start trying to eat a protein forward diet.  This is what you're going to have to do post-op.  Also cut out carbonated beverages and alcohol.  The sooner you start to make these changes the easier it will be when you have to stop all together.

Good luck.

I'm pre-op as well but you might want to start using a food tracker like my fitness pal or sparkpeople. I know I'm trying to work on eating more slowly. But what you're doing is great.

All this advice is solid.  Additionally I found it helpful to chew whatever I ate deliberately, thoughtfully and chewed at least 15-20 times.  I still do that now to get my head in touch with my body.  New, positive habits, that's what you want to work on.
