Question about rabeprazole

The hospital gave me a prescription of rabeprazole and the instructions from the pharmacy state that it can't be cut or crushed. Basically I have to take it whole. Did any of you ever have trouble taking it on post op day 2? I'm not sure if my stomach can handle it so soon.

If the tablet isn't much bigger than a tylenol you should be ok taking it whole, I was given prevacid and it came in a large capsule and the pharmacy said i could break open the capsule and take it with applesauce which is working out well. If you are having trouble with the tablet contact your dr and maybe they can change it. Good luck

I was fine taking Prevacid in the whole capsule, just swallow with water.

Oh ok I will try it. Thanks. Taking it with applesauce doesn't leave me much room for breakfast. I am eating well and no issues tolerating cream soups with protein powder and I'm up to a 1/4 cup per meal but I would like to try cream of wheat at breakfast and have the applesauce as snacks.

It is a very tiny pill, there is no problem taking it on the 2nd day - post op.

I was given rabeprazole as well ...I didn't have any trouble with it.
