Migraine - Meds etc

I've suffered on and off with migraines and since surgery they've come back stronger.

I was wondering if anyone else suffers and what Meds they've gotten from their doctor or if they've tried anything etc.

My family doctor told me to research what I need (yes I have one of those doctors).

So any help would be great.

As long as no NSAID you can take anything that works

Zomig, is a life safer.  You pop one as soon as you feel the migraine coming on.  Around 20-30 minutes the migraine is gone.

You need to get a prescription from your Doctor.

I'm glad I don't have a Family Doctor to tell me to research meds for migraine...isn't that their job??? I know Family Doctor's are hard to come by hopefully he or she is more helpful next time.

I get a lot of headaches, and I use Alleve for them (I love Alleve). My last appointment at the bariatric center the nurse told me to look into alternatives, as I'm going to have to get off NSAIDs. Tylenol doesn't work, so I talked with my family doctor, not much in alternatives for headaches; however she said she didn't think I was suffering from migraines, which she said I would be able to use migraine medicines if I did ever have one.

Hope that helps.

Good luck!!!!!
