I can take Sudafed?  Terrific.  I feel alot better and my headaches are just a little dull ache.  I am not enough hungry.  I did pass a major hurdle though.  I cooked a turkey and fixings.  It has been smelling great, but I am ok.  I didn't even lick my fingers.  I did, however, leave the room with my shake lol

Revision on 10/04/16

I'm 6 days post op today.  I also battled a cold. I did one of the nasal spray decongestants which was a godsend.  The cold seems to be on the way out just as my son is getting sick...so annoying because now I'm at risk of getting another one...I just can't seem to catch a break.

Im on full liquids now so I took the turkey carcass leftover carrots potatoes onions celery etc and tossed it all in the slow cooker with water and chicken broth.

Pureed the remains and it is awesome!  Tastes like turkey dinner soup! I don't feel like I'm missing out at all anymore.  (Not that I wouldn't kill for stuffing)

Hi ,

I read you used unflavored protein for your soups. Where can I find unflavored protein?

Hi takingarisk,

I got it at Walmart it's called "Six Star" it has 20g of protein per scoop which is 32g or 2 table spoons so I use 1 Tablespoon to add 10g of protein to 1 cup of soup and that gave me 4 servings of soup for the day but now I am up to a 1/2 c servings. The only thing is it won't store for long needs to be used in the same day. Hope this helps.

Thanks

I had Dr. Jackson he was amazing, my hubby was very nervous about the surgery and Dr. Jackson came to see us before I went into surgery and he spoke with my hubby for a good 10 mins explaining the procedure and reassuring him things will be fine and after surgery he spoke with him giving him details of how things went and what to expect during recovery. He has seems very caring and a big plus this man has the most beautiful eyes omg. The team at TWH are great.

Who do/did you have?

Having WLS with Dr. Okrainec.  Scheduled for Nov 22.  I'm terrified.  My husband doesn't talk about it.  Keeps asking if I'm sure, which makes me teeter several times each day.  I know I have to do it, cause if I don't I will regret it.  I know he's just scared and doesn't want me to regret it down the road.

I see Dr. Okrainec on Friday and sign all my paperwork and get my opti order in.  Hard to believe its really going to happen.

Keep posting whenever you can.  I love to see how newbies are doing.

How are you feelings. How is are the liquids going?

I'm doing very well still very low energy but today is only one week and I am doing great getting in the fluids so far I am up to 1.5 litres of water and am getting in an average of 30 to 40 grams of protein daily. I am having difficulty drinking my protein shakes so I drink a lot of protein water and put unflavored protein powder in my soups and applesauce.

My hubby was very scared and worried. He did not agree with me doing the surgery at the beginning until he seen how determined I was to go through with this and the reasons why I chose this journey. I basically told him that he had more to worry about me not doing this and addressing my obesity than worrying about the surgery. The risks of remaining obese are much higher than the surgery and recovery.

Oh my Nov 22 is just around the corner and will be here before you know it. Use the time to plan and prepare. I made a lot of easy to freeze meals for my hubby and to have easy access for the pureed stage. I also did a major purge of my home lol a huge fall clean out. Plan anything you feel will help your recovery be a smooth as possible.

Try no to worry to much and enjoy the opti lol
