How long till Orientation letter? and what hospital?

it's my first time posting on the forum, I got my doctor to send a referral mid may 2016. I double checked with him in. June and July but I still haven't received any letter or info. I had also called to confirm with the doctor that they have my referral confirmation letter today but I was wondering is it normal to wait this long for a letter? Also if I'm located I. The Oshawa area, what hospital would I likely be sent to.

Your doctor will be able to tell you where you were referred to... it tells them when they put it through.  Make sure he went through the OBN... if he didn't.. then nothing will happen with your referral until he puts it in through there... When I did mine.. I had my letter within a couple of months.. and my orientation a couple of months after that  If it was put in mid may.. I would think that you should have had something by now. 

I would check back with your doctor to see what is happening.

I had my orientation letter in my hands 1 week after my Dr made the referral. I'm in a different area than you are and maybe it's a bit quicker, but 4 months sounds like a long time based on what I've read on here.

Some Dr's do the referral wrong and don't send it through the Network, so you should call to ensure its been received.

Fingers crossed you hear soon...the waiting is the hardest part.

I am also in Oshawa and you will most likely go through Humber River Regional Hospital. They are amazing there. You will love them. Good luck on your journey.  :)

I'm in Courtice and I was referred to TWH.  Definitely call the doc to see what hospital you were referred to and then call them.
